About Maple Tree Farm, Inc.

Tom and Jenny Kardoes began their journey into the world of alpacas by investigating alpaca breeding as an investment potential for their retirement plan. After visiting several alpaca farms and being with these beautiful animals up close it all changed. "We fell in love with these graceful gentle creatures of the Altiplano. God's gift to the Quechua". Alpacas, are now their full time passion not merely an investment!

Our farm and herd

You will find our farm in the heart of Americas' breadbasket. It lies 30 minutes south of Interstate 90 or 30 minutes West of Interstate 35. You won't find a lot of hustle and bustle here, only the peaceful humming of a small herd of quality alpacas. There is no rat race but plenty of time to sit under the maple trees and watch our cria play.

The gentle graceful alpacas that we raise at Maple Tree Farm are the synthesis of the miracle that was given to the Quechua of ancient times by the Almighty Himself.

Breeding the ultimate alpacas

Our philosophy of breeding is inspired by Don Julio Barreda of Esatnacia Accoyo. Breed only the best to only the best. Our breedings are selected through genotype and progeny testing. This assures us of a preponderance of desirable genetic traits in the makeup of our alpacas DNA. The future in alpacas is ultimately in the fiber. For consistent quality and quality in fibre production we must depend on genotype and progeny testing not solely on phenotype or pedigree. We strive to bring each generation closer to the ULTIMATE alpaca.

We offer only top quality alpacas with proven genetics from one of the most elite gene pools in America. If you are just beginning your journey into the world of alpacas or are a long time breeder a visit to the quiet solitude of Maple Tree farm will be time well spent. We spend a lot of time with our animals so you will be able to get up close and personal with the animal of Inca royalty. You will be introduced to a tranquil lifestyle and one of the most gentle and beautiful of God's creatures.
